UK Sees Huge Surge In Demand For EV

The last three years have seen a remarkable surge in demand for electric and hybrid vehicles in the UK, with new registrations of plug-in cars having increased from 3,500 in 2013 to more than 80,000 by December 2016, seeing the alternative fuelled and low emission vehicle market outperform the wider transport industry.

There are numerous underlying factors behind that inflation, predominantly due to general environmental awareness and technological developments, which have subsequently permitted a more desirable offering.

On the face of it, the number of models and attributed specifications have improved, but that is only advantageous if the essential logistics that power this market are also enhanced. And that is certainly happening; the sheer volume of electric vehicle charging points and the differing locations continues to expand rapidly.

Rolec Services has recently manufactured its 50,000th charging point and has now combined with local business Mick George as accredited installer of its products.

EV charging points can now be found in all shapes, sizes and designs, suited to public, commercial and residential dwellings and what’s more can even be grant funded, so has further financial benefits.
