Cutting Down On Corn To Maximise LED Light Output

Light Efficient Design UK explains how it's offering professionals a serious alternative to just making do with one size fits all corn lamps.

Light Efficient Design’s cost-effective, high-performance light output ratio LED HID retrofits are purpose-designed to maximise light output in low bay, floodlight, post top, bollard and high bay fittings.

The Light Efficient Design LED 8032 140W high bay downlight for ultra-high ceilings, for example, replaces up to 400W HIDs with bright high quality 4,000k or 5,700k colour temperature. The 100W LED 8036 high bay replaces 250W HIDs, directing light upwards, sideways and downwards.

“Corn has become a favourite for LED re-lamping applications where expenditure, maintenance and minimal architectural disruption are all priorities,” said Michael Morrison, managing director, Light Efficient Design UK Limited. “But LED retrofit lamps are not all the same, and a corn lamp might not be the correct retrofit choice, meaning more than 50% light loss can be experienced from the existing fitting housings.”

All Light Efficient Design retrofit solutions include a five-year warranty, active cooling for a guaranteed minimum 50,000 hour/five-year lifetime and can be used in enclosed fittings. Products are fully CE/ROHS tested and LM79 LM80 data compliant to provide users genuine photometry.

Light Efficient Design UK’s Newbury-based warehouse offers prompt delivery to UK/Ireland electrical wholesalers and help is available through a national network of lighting sales engineers and electrical wholesalers.
