EasiLume’s outstanding service wins Amtek contract

The project requires 610 high bay LEDs, installed at various heights from 12-15m throughout the foundry.

Amtek project manager Paul Wealls explained, ‘I knew we needed LED because 610 lights require a lot of energy so it was important to find an energy efficient solution that would keep our running costs down. Using LED could halve our lighting electricity demand, so it seemed an obvious choice.

‘When I came across EasiLume’s Nuvola LED high bay, I visited their website and used their live support chat facility to find out more. The response was very quick and extremely helpful. EasiLume’s head of sales Stuart Dixon came to see me with a sample the next day.’

Stuart Dixon added, ‘Lighting is now much more than a simple decision, it’s a strategic choice. LED saves a huge amount on energy bills, sometimes as much as 80 per cent, potentially even more when paired with daylight and motion control. The top performing LED we recommended to Amtek could save the foundry around £100,000 a year on electricity bills alone. But for high bay projects, like this one, you also need to think about maintenance. It isn’t easy to change a lamp that is 15m up! So the long lifetime of LED, and the reliability throughout its lifetime, is equally important.’
