Edinburgh Trams depot adopts Morley-IAS for seamless fire safety

Edinburgh Trams has selected solutions from Morley-IAS by Honeywell to protect all areas of its new depot, part of the multi-million pound transport development.

The major infrastructure project is protected by a Morley-IAS ZX5SE panel with passive repeater panels, as well as a range of devices providing audible warning, heat and optical smoke detection to ensure maximum fire safety through the building.

Edinburgh Trams required a solution which would provide flexibility and ease of use, allowing other devices to be added into the structure. These include an interface for the door access systems which ensures that exits operate automatically in an emergency.  Also key in the decision to choose Morley-IAS was its flexibility in providing high quality protection of the various different areas within the depot, including the workshop, staff areas and depot floor.

Morley-IAS distribution partner SCS was contracted by GR White & Son to install the system in the depot.
