Wilts employee pedals for pounds in aid of Help for Heroes

Wilts has celebrated a fortnight of fundraising thanks to the efforts of one of its Bristol employees.

Mark Lock from Wilts’ Bristol branch took on the gruelling challenge of travelling from Land’s End to John O’Groats for the Help for Heroes charity.

With some Wilts sponsored kit and a number of customers behind him, Mark headed off on Saturday 4th June and spent 13 days travelling over 914 miles with the sole aim of raising awareness and money for the charity.

Mark said, ‘I always had the dream to give something back to our troops. With all the support they’re giving us, it’s the least I could do for them and their families.’

After 99 hours and seven minutes of cycling and running, unpredictable weather conditions, blisters and a distinct lack of home comforts, Mark Lock arrived at his destination on Friday 17th June. His considerable efforts have raised nearly £1,000 for Help for Heroes.
