Unitrunk to explain prime cost savings at Electric Event

Taking place at London’s QEII Centre on 2nd–4th July, this year’s ECA conference will once again see the most prominent manufacturers and distributors  attend an event that enables the supply chain to engage with electrical contractors to discuss both technical and commercial solutions.

The Electrical Contractors’ Association’s (ECA) nominated topics for this year’s event are ‘Managing Change’ and ‘Remaining Profitable’ and Unitrunk believes that its installer focused approach to developing cable management systems that are faster and easier to install are relevant on both counts.

Unitrunk’s national sales manager, Tim Brown, explained, ‘The sustainability agenda, BIM, new approaches to procurement and pressure to complete schemes within tighter and tighter programmes are all creating an environment of massive change for electrical contractors.

‘Meanwhile, the cost of labour and materials versus the margins that can be built into projects coupled with the continuing issue of late payment are also putting pressure on the sector. Additionally, many contractors are reporting an expected shortage of skilled labour in the coming months as contract activity increases so it’s clear that utilising and managing resources on site will be a major factor.

‘Our approach is to understand those pressures by engaging with contractors and reengineering our products to meet the industry’s changing needs. The Electric Event provides us with an ideal forum to highlight the progress we’ve made with our RIS systems and gain the feedback we need to help with further product development.’
