Peak performance from Mira for children’s charity

The experience not only proved to be challenging for the team, but also rewarding – it raised over £10,000 for CLIC Sargent, one of the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.

The team all completed the challenge in just over 24 hours, during which they experienced a mixture of sunny skies over Ben Nevis, rain and 40mph winds on Scafell Pike and looming clouds over Snowdon. During the event the team climbed around 10,000ft and hiked 25 miles – all with little or no sleep between peaks.

CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to children and young people, and their families to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. It is engaged from diagnosis onwards and aims to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some sad cases, bereavement.

Tom Rastall, marketing manager for Mira Showers, said, ‘It was a tough event to take on, but thankfully the training and good team spirits helped us all complete the Three Peaks together. More importantly, the fantastic support we received has raised lots of money for CLIC Sargent.’
