Newey & Eyre helps Children in Need

As part of a BBC Children in Need special edition of DIY SOS, Newey & Eyre teamed up with social housing provider Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH) to supply an array of electrical products for the renovation of a community centre in Liverpool.

The Norris Green Youth Centre was revamped in order to provide the local area with a safe place for children’s activities and for use by the wider community. With numerous companies involved and more than 120 tradesmen on site at peak times, the inspiring project was completed in just nine days.

Having worked with LMH for the past three years, Newey & Eyre was the obvious choice to supply products for the project. In order to perform such an extensive renovation, around £20,000 worth of stock was donated which included everything from cabling, steel and plastic containment, to wiring accessories and flexible conduit.

Luke Biddle, marketing manager for Newey and Eyre, said, ‘We have a good working relationship with Liverpool Mutual Homes, having supplied products for more than 15,000 homes over the last three years.

‘As a business with a strong sense of corporate responsibility, we are delighted to be involved in such a worthy project. We believe the local community will benefit greatly from the new look centre and are proud we could be a part of it.’
