IET to host live ‘webinar’ on the amended Wiring Regulations

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (the IET, formerly The IEE), is holding its very own live ‘webinar’ to answer the industry’s questions on the amended IET Wiring Regulations 17th Edition, BS 7671:2008 incorporating Amendment No.1, 2011.

The webinar will be hosted online at 3pm on 17th November, in conjunction with The IET’s own TV channel (IET TV), by The IET’s technical regulations manager, Mark Coles. The aim of the webinar is to give those working within the electrical industry a chance to ask questions about the amended Wiring Regulations.

In July of this year, the IET and The British Standards Institution (BSI), launched The IET Wiring Regulations 17th Edition, BS 7671:2008 incorporating Amendment No.1, 2008 (2011). All new electrical installations are to comply with these amended Wiring Regulations from 1st January 2012.

The IET’s technical regulations manager, Mark Coles, said, ‘The IET is the authority on the requirements for electrical installations and has set up the live webinar in order to assist organisations in getting to grips with the amended standard. In addition to aiding with the understanding of the amended IET Wiring Regulations, the event will provide the opportunity to ask any related technical questions people may have.

‘We hope to see a large cross-section of the industry logging onto the webinar, however, for those who can’t make it but would like to know more, the IET also provides a technical telephone helpline and has recently published The On-Site Guide to BS 7671:2008(2011) to provide guidance to those involved in the design, erection and verification of electrical installations.’

The IET is currently inviting questions from the electrical community to feature in the live webinar. To book your place or to send your questions before the event please contact Andy Shaw on andy.shaw@kindredagency.com. You can enter the webinar by visiting www.IET.tv
