Fluke tools chosen for Electrical Installation skill testing at WorldSkills London 2011

The latest Fluke 1654B multifunction installation tester has been chosen by WorldSkills London 2011 to be used by competitors within the Electrical Installation skill category at the competition, which will be held over four days at ExCeL London from 5th-8th October 2011.

Electrical Installers, or Electricians, are responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and repair of electrical installations in domestic, commercial and industrial electrical systems. Electrical safety is an essential part of an electrical installer’s skill and safe working practices must be adhered to: use of the Fluke 1654B can ensure that fixed wiring is safe and correctly installed to meet the latest BS7671 17th Edition wiring regulations.

WorldSkills London 2011 is set to be the world’s largest international skills competition with young people from across the globe competing to be the ‘best of the best’ in their chosen skill.

Around 150,000 visitors are expected and they will see 1,000 competitors from over 50 countries/regions competing in 46 skill areas over four exciting days of competition. Over 100 colleges from across the UK will be showcasing their skills and talents at the event. Experts will also be on hand to share their knowledge and offer careers advice.

As a Global Industry Partner (GIP) of WorldSkills International since 2004, and a sponsor since 1999, Fluke Corporation uses WorldSkills as part of its international education programme. Working collectively with other GIPs, Fluke aims to develop best practices and standards globally across industries, while producing a mobile workforce with portable skills.
