EEIBA Yorkshire branch launches Christmas fundraiser

The Yorkshire Riding branch of EEIBA, the electrical industry charity, has announced details of its 2011 Christmas fundraising lunch.

Taking place at the Pavillions, Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate on 9th December, this year’s event has a definite sporting theme with Howard Webb MBE – the first Englishman to referee a World Cup Final since 1974 – as the after dinner speaker.

Guests will be treated to a three course lunch and will also be entertained by comedian Johnnie Casson. There will also be the usual raffle with a varied selection of prizes to raise further funds on the day. For ease of transport to and from the event, there will be a courtesy coach service leaving Leeds City Centre at midday and returning at 6pm.

Andrew Roach, branch chairman for the Yorkshire Riding EEIBA, said, ‘This year’s Christmas lunch is sure to be a great event and I know everyone is looking forward to hearing about Howard’s experiences as a top international football referee.

‘With 270 people attending the 2010 lunch, we raised more than £5,000 which was a fantastic achievement and we’re hoping to exceed that figure this year.’

Tickets for the lunch are £60 per person and those wishing to go can book by contacting Jean Bolland, Yorkshire Riding branch administrator, on 07547 707163 or via email on jean.bolland11@gmail.com
