Eaton’s latest whitepaper explores LED lighting solutions for industrial and commercial buildings

The paper, entitled ‘Specifying LED Lighting for Industrial and Commercial Buildings’, outlines key elements to consider when selecting the most appropriate LED solution for industrial and commercial buildings, and is available via free download at www.cooper-ls.com/LED. The paper aims to address the confusion that has arisen among specifiers as a result of the rapid rise of LED lighting and the vast array of products and information available.

‘This paper focuses on the rapid acceleration of the capabilities of LED lighting, which has turned the technology into an attractive option for general lighting in the commercial and industrial sectors,’ said Graham White, lighting technical manager at Eaton and author of the paper. ‘Its main appeal lies in its high energy efficiency and its ability to generate more light per unit than other available technology. Despite the many advantages, however, the paper discusses additional considerations that can influence the performance and cost effectiveness of LED technology, such as design, intended purpose and fitting.’

The paper concludes that there are many varying LED options once the decision to use an LED luminaire has been made. As such, each application should be considered in detail to determine which LED option is the most appropriate.
