EAL puts its weight behind InstallerLive
EAL is a major sponsor of this year’s InstallerLive exhibition (16-19 October, NEC in Birmingham) – the only national show dedicated to the needs of plumbing, heating, electrical and renewable installers.
EAL will have a key role in delivering the educational programme for installers and contractors attending InstallerLive. It will partner with the show’s organisers in the content of the Plumb and Electro Skills Station, one of the four key training hubs at the show.EAL’s managing director, Ann Watson, commented, ‘We’re delighted to be taking such a strong lead in the delivery of the educational programmes at InstallerLive. Helping installers navigate their options for quality training is vital to ensure the safety of the industry and, as the specialist for industry qualifications, we feel our experts are ideally placed to guide installers through InstallerLive.’
The Plumb and Electro Skills Station in association with EAL will provide both educational and practical support to installers. To ensure contractors’ electrical knowledge remains up to date, EAL is offering training sessions, free of charge to those pre-booking via the InstallerLive website. The talk, entitled ‘17th Edition, 1st Amendment to The Wiring Regulations (BS7671)’, will take place everyday from 12.30-2pm.
EAL will also stand alongside the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies by sponsoring the ‘Eco Challenge’. This feature allows visitors to test their skills against others in an exciting, timed competition focused on installing renewable technologies. The aim of the Eco Challenge is to raise awareness of the skills that will be required to fit renewable technologies in the light of current and future government initiatives, such as the Green Deal, Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Winners on each day will receive £100, £200 and £300 worth of training vouchers to be used for environmental technology training through the National Skills Academy.
‘Having the right qualifications are essential for installers moving into new markets, like renewables, and skilling up when working with existing electrical, heating and plumbing technologies,’ said the show’s event director, David Pierpoint. ‘With EAL on board, the show can offer training from one of the most respected providers in the industry. Our educational programme is going from strength to strength with around 70 free seminar sessions for installers to attend.’
In addition to the Plumb and Electro Skills Station, the InstallerLive Education Programme will ensure installers receive the training content they can trust in three other eye catching seminar and demonstration areas at the show – the Green Deal Station, the Heating and Cooling Skills Station in association with Corgi Services and the Eco Challenge.
