Double delight as NG Bailey triumphs at SELECT awards

NG Bailey is celebrating a double award win at this year’s SELECT awards.

NG Bailey won both the Best Electrical Safety award and Electrical Contractor of the Year – the main award of the evening.

NG Bailey was given the Contractor of the Year award for showing outstanding performance overall. The Best Electrical Safety Project win recognised the company’s contribution to health and safety at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), where NG Bailey has implemented several safety initiatives that have helped ARI lower the accident rate on site.

The awards were given by SELECT, the trade association for the electrotechnical industry in Scotland, at its Annual Awards Dinner on 5th October.

Stuart Mortimer, director of safety, health, environment and quality at NG Bailey said, ‘These award wins are great recognition for NG Bailey and in particular demonstrate that we are now widely recognised as a leader in the field of health and safety.’

Newell McGuiness, SELECT’s managing director, said, ‘Each year, in the course of their visits, the judges encounter many pleasant surprises – examples of how, right across the industry, SELECT Member companies are excelling in the service they provide.

‘The Electrical Contractor of the Year Award is intended to capture the very best of that excellence and to give public recognition for outstanding performance. It takes something special to win this prize, but this year’s winner is a company that consistently operates at the leading edge of the electrical contracting industry.

‘With the economic slowdown bearing heavily on the construction sector, our winning contractor has used its experience to win key contracts in Scotland that continue to present employment opportunities while providing a first rate service.’
