Discover the seductive power of retail lighting at the Osram Light Spot – Newey & Eyre Birmingham

Newey & Eyre has unveiled a pioneering new Osram display at its flagship Birmingham branch, located in Aston, presenting fascinating new concepts in retail lighting.

The Osram Light Spot showcases a new world of possibilities in retail lighting through live, exclusive demonstrations coupled with expert advice. The concept is to help contractors and specifiers widen their knowledge on retail lighting, providing a wealth of inspiring lighting ideas to enable them to entice customers and create different lighting effects.

Visitors will get to discover the very latest in retail lighting solutions; including LED display, LED striplighting and cover lighting, halogen and metal halide lighting to state-of-the-art light management systems for the entire sales floor. The comprehensive display includes lighting for front of house, shelving, fittings and backrooms, along with warehouse facilities, all designed to engage and inspire customers.

In addition, attendees will learn about powerful concepts for sustainable cost reductions. For example, many of the products not only drastically reduce carbon emissions but boast a lifetime guarantee of up to eight years and extremely low maintenance, with some not having to be replaced for up to 12 years. The use of intelligent light management systems featuring daylight and presence dependent lighting control can further reduce costs.

Luke Biddle, marketing manager at Newey & Eyre commented, ‘We are extremely excited to launch the UK’s first Osram Light Spot. The unique display will provide customers with an exclusive viewing of emerging technologies first hand.

‘Retail lighting is an extremely complex market. Lighting represents a considerable cost factor throughout the sector, often as much as 60 per cent of overall energy costs, meaning efficiency and durability is vital. Conversely, the emotional, sales promotional aspects of lighting designs are very important, where good illumination facilitates customer orientation and enhances the buying experience.

‘Given then that retail lighting is typically replaced every 3-5 years, we see Light Spot as a major benefit for contractors and specifiers working in the retail lighting arena and we would encourage as many customers as possible to come along.’
