CEDIA announces new two day Tech Forum plus keynote presentation and AGM

CEDIA is pleased to welcome AWE, Crestron, Future Automation, Habitech, HDanywhere, Invision, Leaf and Savant Systems Europe as the sponsors of the event. These trade suppliers will be showcasing their latest products over the course of the two days, while a selection will also hold product training on the first day. These sessions will support the two intensive new CEDIA training courses.

‘The new CEDIA Tech Forum will provide a focused training environment for installers to get to grips with the latest thinking and practical support on two industry hot topics: 4K and HDMI, and the design and deployment of wireless technologies in the home,’ says Simon Buddle, CEDIA EMEA’s education director. ‘Trade suppliers will provide hands-on training for brand specific products and technologies. It’s a great opportunity for installers to access targeted and useful education from a variety of sources in one place at one time.’

CEDIA has also revealed that Maria Ingold, CEO of global tech consultancy, Mireality, will deliver a special keynote presentation ahead of the CEDIA AGM at the close of day one.  Voted one of the most influential people in UK New Television by VOD Professional and one of TechCityInsider’s top 100 people redefining digital business in London and beyond in 2014, Maria heads a technical consultancy specialising in the secure delivery of premium film and television on demand. She has created end-to-end VOD solutions for some of the most successful on-demand movie services in Europe, including cable (Virgin Media) and broadband (Channel 4’s Film4oD).

Maria’s presentation, entitled Home Technology (HoT): A connected, smart, sustainable future for living – at home and away will explore how communications, audio, video, smart home, efficient energy and wearable tech are all combining to provide advancements in home technology, and also to life, with the ultimate goal of creating homes that people can take with them wherever their heart goes.

‘It makes sense for the CEDIA Keynote Presentation and AGM to follow the first day programme of the Tech Forum,’ adds Matt Nimmons, CEDIA’s operations director. ‘We are delighted to welcome Maria Ingold as our presenter who will give us an invaluable, external perspective on our industry, looking at the changing technology and the consumer trends that will affect how we do business in the future.’

Following the keynote address, CEDIA will present a detailed review of the year at its AGM (CEDIA members only). This will include reports on education, marketing, membership growth, finance and more, with the composition of the new CEDIA Board also revealed at the event. Members are then invited to stay for an evening of networking.

CEDIA members and non-members who wish to attend the CEDIA Tech Forum and keynote can purchase tickets online at www.cedia.co.uk/cedia-events. Prices are as follows: £50 for members and £100 for non-members.  Entry to the Keynote Presentation is free for members, while the cost is £40 for non-members.  The AGM is only applicable to CEDIA members.
