Business Secretary Vince Cable visits Dimplex

Mr Cable was given a tour of the Dimplex product showroom and training facility where he was introduced to Dimplex’s wide range of energy efficient domestic, commercial and renewable heating solutions and learnt how the business had managed to grow through continued product development despite the recession. He was particularly interested in the new Quantum heating system which is designed and manufactured in the UK.

Vince Cable said, ‘Small and medium sized companies like Dimplex are the backbone of the British economy. The company has grown despite challenging economic times by investing in product innovation and staff development. 
’British manufacturing employs two and a half million workers and contributes almost £140bn a year to the UK. The sector is key to rebalancing our economy, creating jobs and spreading prosperity across all regions of the UK.’

Karen Trewick, director of communications for Dimplex, said, ‘With nearly 70 years’ experience in developing electric heating solutions, Dimplex leads the way for innovation and product development in the domestic and commercial heating markets.

‘We were delighted to welcome the Business Secretary and to demonstrate how our market leading products are helping to reduce the energy consumption of homes and businesses across the UK in line with the latest energy policy.’
