DW Windsor Katana Re-imagines Large Area Lighting

Lighting specialist DW Windsor has released the new Katana range, a modular system of luminaires for large area, high-output applications.

For many years, specifiers of large area lighting have been limited to bulky, unattractive floodlights to meet the required standards, says the company. DW Lighting has introduced the Katana range to address this and to provide choice without compromise to aesthetics or performance.

Katana provides a powerful lumen package of up to 88,000 lumens, and offers efficiency of up to 130lm/W. Designed to offer innovative optical control, featuring Diamond+ technology, Katana provides 24 standard optical distributions for design flexibility, with a predicted lifespan in excess of 100,000 hours (L90).

Two versions of the system have been launched by DW Windsor. Katana Industrial, which aims to provide maximum energy savings with minimal whole life costs, and Katana Urban, which is customisable to specific project requirements, for those that require a more bespoke and decorative solution.

From high-mast car park lighting (Katana’s low weight of 10kg per module makes it useful for retrofit applications onto existing columns) to discrete wall grazing of a large façade, the Katana lighting system is suitable for use across a multitude of applications and offers impressive energy savings, the company says.

Available with a range of control options and future-proof features, Katana is Smart City ready.
