Taking place at Soccer Sensation in June, Newey & Eyre’s Hull branch brought together both employees and customers from across the region who took to the pitch to raise money for local charity, PAUL for brain recovery. And with over £750 donated during this year’s inaugural event, the much needed funds will be used to support the expansion of the charity’s brain recovery centre in Hull.
A charity close to the branches’ heart, PAUL for brain recovery was founded by Paul Spence, who was previously an electrician for many years before suffering a life threatening brain haemorrhage. Following his recovery, Paul set the charity to help others affected by brain injury. The mission is to help guide and support on the long road to recovery.
17 teams participated in the six-a-side tournament, enjoying a day of competitive fun, all in aid of the worthy cause.
Danny Musgrave, trade counter manager at Newey & Eyre’s Hull branch, commented, ‘We’d like to thank everyone that competed in this year’s event. I think everyone that attended would agree it was an enjoyable day and fantastic to be able to help a charity so close to the industry.
‘The good news is, we’ve only just completed the tournament, but teams are already signing up to participate in the fundraising event again next year!’
