Do you have what it takes to be named the best Electrical Engineer in the UK?

Open for registration from 1 March until 7 April, the WorldSkills UK Competition in Electrical Installation, SkillElectric, is run in partnership with National Electrotechnical Training (NET). It is designed to enable the UK’s top apprentices and learners to showcase their talent to employers.

The SkillElectric Competition includes a series of tests, designed by industry experts, which focus on the highest UK and international standards.  The competitions enable employers to benchmark their apprenticeship and training programmes, raising standards across the UK.

The finals of the WorldSkills UK Competitions are held at The Skills Show, the UK’s largest skills and career event, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 17 to 19 November 2016.

Iain Macdonald, CEO, NET said: ‘SkillElectric provides an opportunity for the best in our industry to showcase their abilities and to show people outside our industry the level of skill and technical excellence required to work as an electrician. I’m delighted that NET is partnering with WorldSkills UK to help organise this year’s competition and urge anyone who feels they have an exceptional apprentice to encourage them to enter.’

Age eligible competitors who excel in the finals of the WorldSkills UK Competitions 2016 could be selected to compete for a place in Squad UK for WorldSkills Kazan 2019. WorldSkills is the world’s largest skills competition taking place every two years in countries around the globe. The UK is currently listed seventh in the WorldSkills rankings following an impressive medal haul at WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

Register to enter the WorldSkills UK Competitions at www.findafuture.org.uk/worldskills-uk-skills-competitions from 1 March until 7 April 2016.
