Quartzelec is expanding with new Birmingham office

Recent project wins in the Birmingham area or which will be managed from this office include: Wilton’s Music Hall, Northampton Shopping Centre, Friars Mill and the car park for the Riverside Retail Park. Other projects include work at BBC Birmingham and solutions currently being provided for Wolverhampton Council.

The chosen location for Quartzelec’s new office has excellent links across the whole region. The new office, opened in January 2016, is close to the Birmingham NEC and airport at 4200 Waterside Centre, Solihull Parkway, Birmingham Business Park, B37 7YN.

Martin Broughton general manager for Quartzelec’s Manchester-based operation, commented: ‘The Birmingham team will focus on further growth and we’ve set ambitious sales plans and given the numerous regeneration, re-development and new-build opportunities both the City and the general Birmingham area are currently experiencing, we believe they are more than achievable. What’s more, as Quartzelec’s building services business continues to expand across the Midlands and the South, additional employment opportunities for local electrical and mechanical engineers, along with local apprenticeships and additional support staff should ultimately arise.’

The announcement that the proposed high-speed rail link project is anticipated to be completed sooner than originally planned was also a factor. The link between Birmingham and London was originally due for completion by 2026 but the link between Birmingham and Crewe has now been brought forward, and will open up links to the north by reducing train time to Leeds, Manchester and elsewhere.
