HLEDs success for Harvard

HLEDs, which was commenced in Q3 2014, has seen Harvard implement a number of different processes, throughout the product life cycle from design and development and pre-production, to the production itself and after-care; as well as developing lean leaders, training and developing team leaders and supervisors in ‘seeing waste’, and developing and creating leader standard work.

Harvard is currently into the first year of its five-year transformational plan where a number of, ‘JDI’ – just do it – Big Impact Kaizen Events were identified. 2015 was established as the introductory year about improving the sustainability of current projects whilst also rolling out the same ethos across other areas of the business, including Quality, Sales and its newest product range, EyeNut.

Andrew Winter, operations director at Harvard, commented, ‘We are really pleased with the success we have seen in the first year of HLEDs. The scheme is already helping to meet and exceed customer expectations for quality, cost and delivery, and we are determined that this will continue into the future.’
