McDonald’s offer fast charging alongside fast food

The move has enabled McDonald’s to offer an ideal secure EV charging service via charging units featuring their bespoke corporate branding.

Rolec’s international EV manager Bianca Alsop commented: ‘We are delighted to be able to supply branches of McDonald’s throughout Italy with our popular EV charging wall units and pedestals.

‘One of the branches took our charging points on a trial at first, and were so pleased with them that other branches soon ordered their own. McDonald’s customers can now request a charging token with their meal, allowing them to charge their EV for an hour – thus providing an average drive of around 20 miles for free.

‘McDonald’s charging point push has proven extremely popular with local mayors and councillors, as it is helps to promote greener driving in those areas and also lowers McDonald’s customers’ effects on the environment.

‘For many years now, McDonald’s has been committed to focusing on ways to reduce harmful emissions and as part of this have chosen to adopt a fleet of new EVs for some of their staff.’
