Socomec supports new Stonehenge visitor building

As a World Heritage Site, Stonehenge is the most famous prehistoric monument in the world and holds a pivotal place in the development of archaeology. The original visitor centre was constructed in 1968 as a temporary structure.

For the first time, Stonehenge will now have a proper place to tell its fascinating story, including a spectacular exhibition set within a modern but sympathetic setting that has been designed with the environment in mind.

Andrew Wilkinson, regional managing director, Socomec, commented, ‘At Socomec, we are delighted to play a role in this new development at Stonehenge. We are on target to complete all works by January 2014 and will be providing maintenance support to ensure that the system is optimised on an ongoing basis.’
