Electrician scoops third place at 2013 UK Worker of the Year

In the gala awards finale at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, Mark finished behind Dorchester based farmer and winner Judi James and Barnsley roofer Dean Gerstel. It was the first time UK Worker of the Year organisers have left the choice of winner to the audience, who saw a video and an interview with TV presenter and consumer motoring champion Quentin Willson on stage of each of the eight finalists before voting for their favourite on their keypads.

Mark set up his own company after previously being employed by an electrical contractor in Reading. Mark focuses heavily on domestic and commercial projects in and around Thames Valley and wowed the audience with his passion and commitment to his job.

Mark, who received £1,000 in holiday vouchers from Thomas Cook, commented, ‘I am amazed I got into the final eight of a national competition. To finish third is an unbelievable achievement for me personally. I’ve enjoyed every minute and I’m delighted to have been rewarded for my work.’
