MP presents award to apprentice during visit to local company

The training was managed by JTL and meant Luke had to pass a Level 3 Technical Certificate and be regularly assessed on site by JTL training officer John Hobson, to provide NVQ evidence of his practical skills.

Luke was delighted to complete his apprenticeship. He said, ‘There is a lot of work involved, but it is really well worth it, as I now have a great career ahead of me. Chelmsford Electrical has given me excellent training and vital experience, whilst JTL has supported and guided me through it expertly.

‘I would recommend that young people considering their options take a really close look at an apprenticeship – as I’ve found out, it can be a great career choice.’
As well as presenting the certificate to Luke, the local MP met with management, staff and other apprentices at Chelmsford Electrical, who showed him some of the in-house training facilities.

Chelmsford Electrical’s managing director, Ken Tillbrook added, ‘With over 40 years in the business, Chelmsford Electrical prides itself on being Essex’s premium provider of electrical building services. Our service covers design through to completion and aftercare. To ensure we maintain our high standards, we need a quality workforce, which is the reason we have always valued apprenticeships.

‘The directors are pleased to continue to offer apprenticeships to local young people, that we see as our future skilled workforce and a key asset to the company. It gives us great pleasure to see Luke achieve his Level 3 NVQ and become a fully qualified electrician.’
