ElectricSafe welcomes show of cross-party support

The event, hosted by ElectricSafe and held at Portcullis House on Tuesday 10th September, saw many MPs attend to discuss a range of key issues surrounding electrical safety in the home, including ElectricSafe’s progress in increasing public awareness and understanding of the reasons for using competent, registered electricians.

Commenting on the event, ElectricSafe director Martin Bruno said, ‘It is very encouraging to see so many MPs express a genuine interest in the important issues surrounding electrical safety in the home. This is something ElectricSafe are constantly striving to raise awareness of and improve by encouraging the general public to choose competent, registered electricians when having electrical work done in their home. We have made it easy for homeowners to find a competent, registered electrician via the ElectricSafe website, which allows them to search for one in their local area by entering their postcode. I would like to personally thank the MPs who attended for their show of enthusiasm and support.’

The ElectricSafe register is free to join for all full scope electricians who are registered on a DCLG authorised electrical Competent Persons Scheme. It is designed to make finding, identifying and checking competent electricians easier than ever before. It strives to eliminate unnecessary jargon and complexity, bringing a simple message of electrical safety in the home to every household in England and Wales.
