Funded upskilling opportunities for unemployed plumbers, heating engineers and electricians

‘We are really pleased to be working in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, to deliver the Supporting the Unemployed into Employment Programme,’ commented Cathryn Hickey, executive director for the National Skills Academy.

‘Installers who complete the upskilling courses available will be able to prove their ability and meet legislative requirements and acquire skills in the latest technologies and techniques. Most purchasers have a low carbon commitment and your link to the academy and its qualifications will offer them the assurance that you match their commitment,’ Cathryn concluded.

Potential learners will be provided with an overview of the opportunities available to them, and will need to confirm the skills they already have achieved. The following courses on offer include: environmental awareness, solar photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal hot water, heat pump or rainwater and greywater reuse systems.

On completion of your course you will be given initial free registration on the National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies Register of Trained Installers.
