Recolight calls for entries to the Lux Awards 2012

Recolight is sponsoring the Recycling Award category in this year’s Lux Awards.

The Lux Awards took place for the first time last November and the event has quickly become regarded as one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the lighting industry.

Organised by Lux magazine and the Lighting Industry Association, the Lux Awards aim to recognise and celebrate creativity and sustainability. Lux magazine is also keen for those in the lighting industry – manufacturers, designers, consultants, specifiers and distributors – to nominate clients and end users that have used lighting in exceptional ways to improve their lit environment – and reduce energy.

The Recycling Award is designed to recognise commitment to recycling of lamps, luminaires and equipment from relamp projects. Winners will receive an impressive trophy made from recycled lamp glass.

Suzanne Castine, marketing manager at Recolight, said, ‘Recolight is proud to be a supporter of the Lux Awards. We believe that it is important to recognise the efforts of businesses to be sustainable, and would encourage any business that makes a difference through recycling, has recycled large quantities of lamps or luminaires, or who offers a recycling service to its customers, to apply.’

This year’s event will be held at the Natural History Museum, on Tuesday 6th November 2012. The closing date for entries is 16th July.
