Expansion leads to doubling of office space for Click Scolmore

Click Scolmore has officially opened the doors to its newly transformed head office premises in Tamworth, Staffordshire, which has seen a doubling in size of the office space to accommodate the rapidly growing business and workforce.

The expanded site now inhabits 120,000ft2 and incorporates new offices and meeting rooms and a brand new reception.

Marketing manager Marie Parry said, ‘When we moved to this site back in 2000 our strategy was to ensure we had room for continued growth and expansion. Despite the difficult trading condition in recent years, Scolmore has continued to invest and grow and we are now in a position where we need more space and facilities for our strengthened team.

‘As well as additional offices and meeting rooms, we are taking the opportunity to develop the training facilities that we are providing for our customers for the iNels Home Automation Systems. We are also adding a brand new lighting showroom to our existing Visitor Centre facilities and this will showcase the breadth of our lighting collection and expertise in this sector.’

In keeping with the company’s growing green credentials, the new premises have been designed to be as energy efficient as possible. A new office automation system means that all lighting is controlled on occupancy detection, while a daylight linked dimming of all luminaries means a potential saving of around 40 per cent in energy usage. The external lighting too is controlled by the light levels outside.

Scolmore International has also unveiled its latest initiative to help drive the business forward – a custom designed mobile showroom that will showcase key products from the Click Electrical Accessories and Ovia Lighting ranges.

An eye catching, branded truck when in transit, the five tonne unit transforms into a spacious and stylish showroom, fitted out with the very latest products which are mounted on display panels. With room for a hospitality table and concealed storage for presentation materials and samples, the air conditioned, fully glazed unit provides an ideal space in which to host seminars and presentations and provide product training sessions for visitors.

Launched in time for this year’s schedule of exhibitions and trade shows, the Scolmore Mobile Showroom will take to the road for a series of events including the forthcoming ELEX shows as well as being used to support customer promotions and openings.

Marie Parry commented, ‘This is a fantastic resource, which enables us to demonstrate the breadth of our electrical accessories and lighting products and allows us to host valuable education and training sessions. We see it as a vital tool in helping to build and strengthen relationships and develop the business in the future.’

When fully opened the floor space covers approximately 5.7m x 4m – providing ample room for wall mounted displays to house products from the electrical accessories range.

Designed to bring maximum flexibility, the panels are all interchangeable, making it easy to tailor the displays to meet the needs of the audience or venue.
