Revolutionise your lighting at LuxLive

November 2011 sees the launch of LuxLive, a new, exciting and innovative lighting event for the UK.

Launched by the Lighting Industry Federation and Lux magazine, and backed by leading lighting organisations, LuxLive takes place from 9th to 10th November at Earls Court, London, and is designed to offer state-of-the art lighting solutions for offices, retail, industry, warehousing, education, hospitality and the public sector.

The event will see over 100 exhibitors come together under one roof to offer an insight into the huge technological shift that is currently taking place in the lighting industry.  Attracting everyone from architects, building services engineers, planners, facilities managers, specifiers, lighting designers, estate managers, energy reduction specialists, contractors and those responsible for energy efficiency and sustainability for their clients or within their own organisations, it is a chance for visitors to find out how to use lighting creatively whilst dramatically cutting carbon footprints and slashing energy bills.

The event will showcase the latest in LEDs, smart controls, light sources and light fittings, offering both interior and external solutions from exhibitors ranging from Philips, Osram, GE, Thorn, Wila and Toshiba LED.

In addition to the hundreds of products and services on offer, LuxLive will also play host to the first ever EcoLight Conference. An event specifically targeted at buyers from outside the industry, it will focus on low carbon lighting, helping those with large lighting estates transform premises and dramatically reduce energy bills. With leading specialists keynoting each session, the conference will offer in depth information on low energy lighting solutions and the Carbon Reduction Commitment. Each session will include examples of best practice and panel discussions.

There will also be a host of interactive features, free to attend seminars and round table discussions. Bringing together some of the most influential and knowledgeable experts within the sector for two days of networking and business, the event offers an invaluable resource for anyone looking to make changes to their lighting solutions.

Commenting on the event, Beau McClellan, lighting designer, artist and speaker at LuxLive 2011, said, ‘I am very much looking forward to LuxLive. Our industry needs this event and I am extremely impressed with what is planned, particularly with regards to eco-lighting. It is a great opportunity to meet other people within the industry and see how we can shape the future of both our industry and the planet.’

This year will also see the launch of the first ever Lux Awards. Judged by a panel of leading industry experts, the awards take place on the first evening of the show at Chelsea Football Ground. Recognising and rewarding innovation, creatively and energy efficiency in lighting, the awards also provide an excellent opportunity for the whole industry to come together for an evening of networking and celebration.

LuxLive event director and editor of Lux Magazine, Ray Molony, commented, ‘There is a revolution taking place in lighting. Not since gas took over from electricity 100 years ago have we seen such a technological shift. Ground breaking developments such as LEDs and smart controls now allow companies to create stunning spaces, while slashing their carbon footprint. Because of the huge saving created in energy bills, it also means projects can pay for themselves in as little as 12 months.

‘We are looking forward to bringing this revolution to life at LuxLive with an innovative and exciting event. With over 70 per cent of stands already sold, we are looking forward to all the industry’s key players coming together for two days of business at what is set to be an extremely rewarding inaugural event.’
