AmTech launches 17th Edition Amendment 1 seminars

AmTech Power Software is to run a series of one day and evening seminars to explain the practical implications of Amendment 1 to the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

The first round of events will be held in July and August 2011, following the publication of the confirmed amendments.

Located at venues throughout the UK, these seminars will prove ideal for anyone with a working knowledge of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, such as electrical contractors, engineers, designers and people who are registered in the Part P competence scheme.

The detailed one day seminars will be held in London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Swindon and Scarborough, with limited numbers for each course. These will be split into morning and afternoon sessions, with the afternoon due to focus on the completion of the new Electrical Installation Condition Report.

The initial three hour evening seminar in Burnley is being organised in association with City Electrical Factors’ Nelson Group and will deliver an overview of the changes in an informal environment.

Places can be booked at CEF branches in Blackburn, Clitheroe, Nelson and Rossendale.

All of the events will be hosted by qualified AmTech engineers and will cover the following topics:

New Section 444 – Measures against electromagnetic disturbances

New Section 534 – Devices for protection against overvoltage. Selection of Surge Protection Devices (SPD)

New Section 710 – Medical Locations

New Section 729 – Operating or Maintenance Gangways

Appendix 6 – New Model Forms for Certification and Reporting

AmTech will also be offering a webinar on this subject, enabling users to learn from any location via the web.

Places at all of these events are available for just £40 per session and can be booked at www.amtech-power.co.uk/seminars
